4th of July Weekend Fun
If you come here just as summer officially begins on June 21st, you can catch the end of Mammoth Motocross. You’re also welcome to jump ahead to Independence Day weekend at Mammoth Mountain. Events planned for this year include:
• Summit Sunset Party – If you arrive before the 4th on Friday, enjoy a comfortable scenic gondola ride to the summit of the mountain timed to when the sun goes down over the Minarets. Live music will be included, too.
When: Friday, July 2nd, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (and again on August 19th and September 4th).
• July 4th Happenings – The Village is where Mammoth usually holds most of the on-site happenings for the Fourth of July. If you take a free shuttle into Mammoth Lakes, you can also check out the town’s annual parade from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Summer Music
Another great thing about summer at Mammoth is the ability to catch some awesome tunes performed by live bands. This year, Mammoth Mountain is hosting three big summertime music events:
• Mammoth JazzFest – Contemporary, fusion, and Latin sounds will be featured at this year’s JazzFest. Free for Mammoth visitors, the event includes a wine walk on the first day plus the opportunity to lounge and relax in the Village.
When: July 15th–16th, noon to 10 p.m.
• Mammoth Reggae Festival – Bathe yourself in classic reggae beats during this year’s Reggae Festival. In addition to a dozen bands, there will be opportunities to buy some unique finds from on-site vendors. Cold brews will be served up courtesy of Mammoth Brewing Co.
When: July 22nd–24th, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• Mammoth Festival of Beers & Bluesapalooza – Enjoy the best of the blues along with exceptional brews at this Mammoth summer event. It’s a mix of fantastic blues music from some of the most talented artists in the country paired with an assortment of samplings from many of the nation’s top craft breweries.
When: August 4th–7th, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Mammoth VillageFest
If you have plans for a family getaway this summer, consider timing your visit to Mammoth Mountain to coincide with the resort’s annual VillageFest. This free festival includes a little something for everyone, from tasty ribs and chili offerings to a beer garden for adults.
When: July 30th, noon to 10 p.m.
Mammoth Wine Weekend
A great option for summertime fun at Mammoth is this year’s Wine Weekend. It’s a perfect excuse to come here with a bunch of friends. Participants will be treated to winemaker dinners at select on-site restaurants, a wine walk, and a Sunday champagne brunch.
