Obstacle Course Racing World Championships 10/5-10/9

You read that right. Not only is there a world championship for obstacle races, but it’s happening in Mammoth lakes this month.

It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to compete, have fun on the course, or watch from the sidelines. This event is a must. Plus, with the cool fall air in town you’ll want to spend every second you can outside. Why not do it with some world class entertainment?

Fall Color Viewing

Mid-October is when the fall colors in Mammoth Lakes typically peak. If you don’t already have plans in place to see them then this is your sign to change that.

Mammoth Lakes has a long fall color seasons thanks to the diverse levels of elevation in the area. The leaves higher up will change first as the cool air arrives in early fall. As the cool air moves down so do the fall colors, with the peak intensity happening right about now.

You don’t have to go far to enjoy them either. A simple trip into the Lakes Basin is beautiful enough to visit Mammoth Lakes alone. If you go further to Convict Lake or McGee Canyon then you’ll enjoy some of the most beautiful fall colors  in all of California!
