About Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth Mountain is one of the best ski resorts in California. Mammoth is actually a lava dome complex west of the town of Mammoth Lakes, CA. The Mammoth Ski Area was founded in 1953, and is the highest ski resort in California. It is known for its massive amounts of snowfall it receives each year, as compared to other peaks in the area.

Mammoth has more than 3,500 acres of skiable terrain, serviced by 28 lifts, including 2 gondolas. The mountain has 3,100 ft. of vertical, rising to an elevation of 11,053 ft.

Mammoth has many different options for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Mammoth is home to the Unbound Terrain Parks, which is a series of parks for snowboarders. For you expert snowboarders out there, Mammoth offers the Unbound Main park, which has been praised as one of the best snowboard parks in the country.
