We can’t stress this topic enough, demoing gear before buying is crucial! Just ask yourself this simple question, do you want to make or break your wallet?
Purchasing gear can get a bit pricey, especially when you’re not exactly sure what to get. A brand new Burton snowboard costs around $500. If you are planning to invest that much on gear, we suggest you attend a demo event!
It’s important that beginners, intermediates and even advanced riders attend demos. At demos, riders have the ability to test a variety of board models, sizes and styles that will help you determine what works best for you.
Beginner riders have a clear motive for trying new gear before purchasing but what about advanced riders? Not all advanced riders have sponsors or “know a guy”, therefore they might not have the luxury to test new products and styles as they hit the market.
Another feature to utilize at demos are their representatives! Demo reps are available to answer any of your questions on their products or gear. If you are a beginner and are looking for a new board that is looser than your current board, they will guide you in the right direction. Additionally, if you are an advanced rider and are looking to improve something very specific , demo reps are also a great resource!
