Some people are all about après-ski, and when you factor in the excellent community that surrounds Mammoth Mountain we can see why. Sometimes after a long day of on the hill though, the only thing you want to do is get your boots and wet clothes off, kick back at home, and eat something that is delicious and easy to get your hands on.
We know because we’ve been there after many Mammoth Mountain powder days, and with how much snow Mammoth Mountain has gotten over the past few days we are sure there will be a ton of tired people coming off the mountain. To help everyone get the relaxation and nourishment they need to do it all over again, the team at ASO Mammoth has put together a list of our favorite places to pick up takeout. Check them out below and thank us later!
We put Giovanni’s on this list first because if you’re looking for a quick and reliable meal that you’re almost guaranteed to walk away from stuffed, this is the place for you.
It’s hard to think of a more satisfying thing to eat after a day on the mountain than pizza, but Giovanni’s takes it to the next level by cranking out pizzas with thick crust and plenty of toppings. While Giovanni’s offers more than just pizza, we suggest that you don’t overthink this one and go with their pizza when visiting. Giovanni’s offers your usual small, medium, and large sizes, but they also offer a fourth, “Mammoth” size above large that is ideal for big groups.
For barbecue and a little bit of everything else, we recommend Delicious Kitchen.
Thanks to the location in the strip mall and casual interior some people may be put off by this restaurant’s appearance, but what they lack in décor Delicious kitchen makes up for and then some in flavor and customer service. You’ll know that Delicious Kitchen specializes in barbecue when you visit thanks to the smell and smokers outside, but their menu actually includes a wide variety of American and Mexican favorites sure to make any eater happy. It’s hard to recommend anything other than the barbecue at Delicious Kitchen, but if you’re looking for something different then try their taco special!
While the other menus on this list offer great, filling food, Thai’d Up is your best option for finding a lighter meal that will still leave you satisfied thanks to unique flavors and plenty of options so you get exactly what you need.
Despite being a modest size, Thai’d Up packs plenty of flavor into their appetizers, soups, salads, stir frys, and curries. Plus, with all the different foods offered here you can bet on finding an option for vegan and vegetarian eaters and the staff is absolutely friendly enough to help you navigate the menu to the perfect option for you. While everything on the menu is good, we recommend the lettuce roles followed by their famous sticky pork ribs. Plus, if you’re looking for a little heat after a long day out in the snow then Thai’d up is the perfect place to find it thanks to their five heat levels which you can request for your dishes. If you were only dreaming about Mammoth snow before, we hope our list of all the great takeout food Mammoth has to offer is the push that gets you out the door and up the mountain.
