The Best Bars at Mammoth Mountain

Unless you’re lucky enough to live at Mammoth Mountain like the team at ASO Mammoth, when you come to town you’re probably on vacation. For many people that means kicking back and enjoying a drink.

While you should never drink and ski or snowboard and should always keep in mind that Mammoth’s high altitude means you dehydrate faster, the team at ASO Mammoth wants you to spend more time relaxing with a drink and less time looking for a bar. To help out, we’ve put together a list of a few of our favorite bars around Mammoth Mountain and the surrounding area. Check it out below!

Black Doubt Brewing Company

If you’re looking for a small and quite spot that is seriously focused on beer, then Black Doubt Brewing Company should be your number one stop.

Although Black Doubt is outside of the Village, this nano-brewery offers a rotating selection of craft beers with several unique options including IPA’s and then some more unique choices like Peanut Butter Stouts. Even though Black Doubt is outside the Village, the small size of the bar and friendly staff make it an excellent place to meet people and have a great conversation over beer you’ll find nowhere else in Mammoth Lakes.

Mammoth Rock and Bowl

Mammoth Rock and Bowl is a great place to spend an evening with your family or friends if you’re taking a rest day or the weather is keeping you off the mountain. Plus, they have an excellent bar with plenty of food options as well.

If you’re just looking for a drink or a meal, then head up to the lounge on the second floor for a full-service restaurant with incredible views of the Sherwins and Mammoth Rock. Otherwise, Mammoth Rock and Bowl also offers lane-side service so you can eat and play at the same time. On top of that, Mammoth Rock and Bowl is also home to three High Definition Golf simulators, so don’t wear yourself on the mountain before heading into Mammoth Rock and Bowl!

Roberto’s Cafe

What’s better than Mexican food, drinks, and stunning views of the mountains? If you can’t find an answer, then Roberto’s should be at the top of your list for Mammoth bars.

Located past the Village and in Mammoth Lakes, Roberto’s offers hearty Mexican food at a good price and plenty of beer, cocktails, and margaritas to satisfy you if you’re just looking for a drink. Roberto’s also draws people in with its happy hour deals, so time your visit to get the most bang for your buck. Speaking of timing your visit, if you’re lucky enough to visit during good weather, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the surrounding mountains from Roberto’s upstairs bar.

Mammoth Brewery

Located just outside of the Village, Mammoth Brewery offers plenty of great options for beer, wine, and food with a great atmosphere to meet new people or connect with old friends.

Since they’ve been brewing in Mammoth Lakes since 1995, the crew at Mammoth Brewery knows a thing or two about Mammoth and it shows in their year-round and seasonal taps. Even though you’ll find plenty to do at Mammoth Brewery thanks to events like trivia night, you can also check out the Mammoth Brewery tasting room and get the inside scoop on each beer on tap and take a few home for yourself.

No matter where you go for a drink while in Mammoth Lakes, be safe and don’t let one night out get in the way of a great day on the mountain. If you have any questions about Mammoth Lakes or need to rent ski or snowboard gear, stop by ASO Mammoth on your way into town!
