Its Music Time in Mammoth Lakes
As festivals around the world have been the way to hear music and see in bands over the past decade, many know there is nothing better than music surrounded by nature. So, if you’ll be in Mammoth this coming weekend you’re in for a treat than is just that. July 20th-22nd will be the Unbound Chamber Music Festival and the Mammoth Reggae Festival While they are both very different events they are both town favorites and are paired perfectly with a day hike, mountain biking, backpacking and of course summer.
If you’re a fan of the classics and piano and string instruments are your favorite way to enjoy the summer breeze than the Unbound Chamber Festival is for you. Running the 20th-22nd and starting at 7:30 each evening and 10:00am on the 22nd the fest features the Felici Trio amongst others. Tickets are available at the Booky Joint or online at ChamberMusicUnbound.org. This festival is great after a long day on the lakes and just dropping down your fishing gear and enjoying the classics.
For a different yet equally spectacular music event the Mammoth Reggae Festival is a free event held this Friday and Saturday at the village. Our top suggestion for this event is to rent a mountain bike at Adventure Sports Outpost in the morning and cruse up the Village via trolley with your bike and intertwine cool vibes and awesome trails all in one day. You can even check out the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park during the day and take the Village stop on your way back down to relax to some Marley inspired beats.
