Cloud 9 is one of Mammoth Mountain’s most popular runs. By taking Chair 9 up the mountain, you have the option to choose between a couple intermediate and advanced runs with a variety of terrain. This run is located on the far left side of the mountain and can be accessed from Eagle Express also known as Chair 15.
Besides the insanely gorgeous vertical view you will have charging down the mountain, Cloud 9 feels like it’s based in a winter wonderland. On a pow day, it’s magical to see the trees coated with a heavy dusting and the run completely untouched by deep snow. There is nothing quite like drawing your own fresh lines in the snow and we think it’s safe to say, this run provides some of the best terrain. Cloud 9 will undeniably be the talk of the trip.
On this run you can also take the traverse skiers’ right to Wazoo, where you will experience a double black diamond glade runner that will have you memorized in seconds.
