What Activities Are Open at Mammoth Mountain?

Partially nestled in the town of Mammoth Lakes, Mammoth Mountain is a popular resort and activity area. It’s an appealing destination, since there’s always something going on here in one form or another. If you have plans to visit the Mammoth area this summer, here’s what you need to know about what’s open, what will be opening, and other important details, brought to you by the team at ASO Mammoth, your one-stop shop for high-quality biking gear and hiking essentials as well as premier Mammoth snowboard rentals and repair.

Winter Activities Are Pretty Much Done

As of early June 2021, according to the Mammoth website, there are no lifts operating at Mammoth Mountain. This means winter-related activities like skiing and snowboarding will have to wait until the winter season begins again, which usually happens in November.

But Mammoth Is Open for the Summer Season

While you’ll have to wait to plow your way through fresh powder, Mammoth is now open for the summer season. This equally popular Mammoth season usually continues into the early fall. The main points of access and use for summer visitors to Mammoth include:

• The bike park
• Gondolas for scenic rides
• The Sierra Star Golf Course in Mammoth Lakes
• Lodging, including the Village Lodge and other properties referred to as the Mammoth Lodging Collection*

*Reservations for lodging can be made online. Multiple dates are available.

The Adventure Center Is Opening Up Again

Mammoth’s popular Adventure Center was open again as of June 11th, 2021. To access this Mammoth location, you’ll need to purchase a Mammoth Bike Park ticket. Single and multi-day tickets are available online via the Mammoth website.

• Climbing-wall fun
• Junior zip-lining
• Bungee trampoline action

Mammoth’s Adventure Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, the center will only be open on weekends (from Friday to Sunday) for the duration of the summer season.

The Bike Park Is Open for Uphill Access

If you’re going to get a pass to access the Adventure Center, you’ll definitely want to check out the bike park at Mammoth. It’s now open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for uphill access only. It’s accessible by pedaling or taking a shuttle that serves the bike park area. The Mountain Center in the village is also open for the summer season for lessons and bike rentals.

Other Important Dates & Access Hours to Keep in Mind

Located in the village, Mountain Center at Mammoth will be open all summer long from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can purchase tickets, sign up for lessons, or pick up rental equipment here. Other key hours of access and operation to keep in mind include:
