Adventure Mammoth can mean so many things, hiking, backpacking, fishing and mountain biking. Although sometimes we all need a day adventure outside of our normal routine. This week we would like to feature a new adventure, a hike on the Duck Lake Trail. Read further to learn about the trail, location and highlights.
The Duck Lake Trail is located about 20 minutes outside the town of Mammoth Lakes and features pristine views, crystal clear lake and a 9.9 mile round-trip trail. Crossing over the John Muir Trail and stopping by Duck Lake, this is the perfect trip if your looking for a longer hiking with a few less people. This trail is also horse and dog friendly if you want to bring and other types of companions! Please keep in mind this a hike for experienced hikers and is best during the months June-October.
For this adventure we recommend being fully prepared and to bring lots of water and to pack a lunch. If your missing items for a longer hike like this one, I would suggest buying either a CamelBak hydration pack or a Vapur crushable bottle at Adventure Sports Outpost, right now they have 20 off summer accessories making your day trip just a little bit sweeter!
