What to Expect when You Visit the Mammoth Adventure Center

If you’re on the hunt for family fun when coming to Mammoth Mountain, make your way to the resort’s Adventure Center. Perched conveniently at the Main Lodge, it’s the go-to spot for an assortment of fun, safe, and thoroughly enjoyable outdoor activities that are sure to keep everyone coming with you occupied and having a memorable time. The friendly folks from ASO Mammoth, your year-round one-stop shop for everything from fishing gear to mountain biking equipment and Mammoth snowboard rentals, offer this rundown of what to expect when spending some time at the Mammoth Adventure Center.

Ropes Course

If your children are little thrill seekers with energy to spare, they’ll love the ropes course at the Adventure Center. It’s an elevated obstacle course designed with smaller-sized adventure seekers at least 5 years old and a minimum of 45 pounds in mind, although it’s suitable for all family members. Features include planks and swings, a log walk, and a climbing net.

Kid-Friendly Archery

The latest addition to the Adventure Center at Mammoth is S.A.F.E. Archery. It features colorful, clearly marked targets for kids to aim at with foam-tipped arrows. It’s a fun way for your kids to work on their hand-eye coordination while competing against one another or other family members.

Bungee Trampoline

This isn’t your typical backyard trampoline. The one at Mammoth’s Adventure Center has a specially designed safety harness that allows your little ones to bounce up to 20 feet in the air. The harness also makes it possible to flip and do other fun things with added safety.

Climbing Wall

Mammoth’s experienced staff will gladly show your kids how to safely make their way up the climbing wall at the Adventure Center. The climbing paths vary in degree of difficulty, allowing your little climbers to choose easy or more challenging climbs. The minimum weight requirement is 30 pounds.

Junior Zip Line

Just behind the Adventure Center, you’ll find the junior zip line. Spanning nearly 300 feet, it safely takes junior thrill seekers over a creek. Your kids can even say hi to the bikers just below along part of the line’s pathway. The weight minimum is 30 pounds for this as well.

The Kid-Friendly Pump Track

Young kids can get a safe taste of what it’s like to work their way through more challenging terrain by heading over to the Pump Track that’s part of the Adventure Center. Riding is done on powered stability cycles while wearing full-coverage helmets for added safety. Older kids and grown-ups are welcome to step things up by heading over to the nearby Bike Park.

Adventure Center Pass Perks

Mammoth Mountain offers an Adventure Pass you’re welcome to purchase in advance of your visit here. Perks include discounts on mountain bike rentals, savings on Bike Park access for young riders 12 and under, and access to Woolly’s Mining Co., which, as the name implies, is modeled after an actual mining company—with some Mammoth-style twists. Stations are set up to allow kids to sift through rock and dirt in search of fun finds.
