Reasons to Attend the Mammoth Margarita Festival

It doesn’t take much effort to find a reason to come to Mammoth Mountain in the summer. One of the most compelling ones is to enjoy the many on-site events the resort hosts during the warmer, longer days of the year. This list includes lively and exciting theme-based festivals, one of which is the Mammoth Margarita Festival. Pack your dancing shoes and read on for the top reasons you should come to this event, a list brought to you by the friendly folks at ASO Mammoth, your year-round one-stop shop for everything from fishing equipment and licenses to mountain biking gear and Mammoth ski rentals.

Margaritas & Other Tasty Spirits

Presented in partnership with Gomez Tequileria, the Margarita Festival is definitely worth coming to if you have an appreciation for the event’s namesake beverage. An assortment of other spirits will be available on-site as well, so you’ll have many mouthwatering libations to sample.

Live Latin Music to Get You Dancing

This is why we mentioned dancing shoes before. While the drinks are certainly a big part of the festival, the centerpiece is the Latin-themed music on the main stage. Performers planned for this year’s festival include:

• Grammy winner Tony Lindsay with acclaimed Santana tribute band Carnaval
• Flamenco guitarists Cale’
• Popular L.A. band The Outlaw Mariachi

Theatrical Circus Fun

This year’s Mammoth Margarita Festival has some added window dressing courtesy of the Stilt Circus. Performers from this award-winning theatrical circus company will be on-site during the festival to delight attendees. Performances typically include colorful costumes, aerial acrobatics, and choreographed routines.

A Fantastic Extended Weekend Opportunity

Because this year’s Margarita Festival starts on a Friday, another reason you should come is to treat yourself to a nice long weekend. Mammoth offers many money-saving deals on lodging. For this particular event, the resort is offering discounts of up to 15 percent on Mammoth Lodging Collection properties for participants.

In addition to enjoying the festival itself on Friday and Saturday, a long summer weekend at Mammoth also gives you and anyone else coming with you a chance to fully explore all the resort has to offer. During the summer months, this list includes:

• Enjoying scenic gondola rides
• Hiking along beautiful mountain trails
• Shopping and dining at the Village
• Biking at the on-site Bike Park

A Great Group Trip Possibility

If you’re on the hunt for something fun to do with a bunch of friends or family members before the summer ends, this is one really good possibility. Plus, when you’re not enjoying the festival together, you and your friends can head to nearby Mammoth Lakes to check things out, thanks to the resort’s free shuttle service. Just make sure to book your lodging as far in advance as possible if you’ll be staying at any of the resort’s properties.
